The Fort Hood Officers’ Spouses’ Club (FHOSC) provides opportunities of leadership, friendship, service, and support to its members and the Fort Hood community. As stated in the club’s Constitution: "In general, the purpose of the FHOSC shall be to bring together members of kindred interest in order that they may be afforded greater opportunity for charitable works, sociability, participation in such activities and projects as the FHOSC may promote or sponsor and to donate to other non-profit organizations to further the significant advancement of the quality of life of military families and the surrounding Fort Hood Community." The FHOSC is governed by an Executive Board, a General Board, and its membership.
Activities and FHOSC functions are planned for the operating year, typically occurring from September to May. Membership luncheons occur monthly, while the club’s three fundraisers are staggered throughout the year. Each of the fundraisers are open to the public and include the following events: The Holiday Bazaar, occurring in November at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center in Killeen, TX; The Wild West Night, occurring in the spring; and The Golf Scramble, held the 1st Friday of each May at the Courses at Clear Creek on Fort Hood. The money made from these efforts is put into the Community Outreach fund and then distributed twice a year to area organizations that have requested grants that the club feels help the military community.
